Event schema generator
Search engines and the Monterey County Event Directory read a small block of structured data (schema.org Event in JSON-LD) to understand an event page: its date, place, price and status. Fill in your event, copy the block, and paste it into that event’s page. Free, no account needed.
Where to paste it
Paste the block into the page for that one event (not site-wide), so each event page carries its own block.
- Squarespace
- Open the event page’s settings, then Advanced, and paste into Page Header Code Injection. Code injection is only on Squarespace plans that include it.
- Wix
- In the page’s SEO settings, open Advanced SEO, then Structured data markup, add a new markup and paste only the part between the
<script>tags. Or use Settings, Custom Code, placed in the head of that page. - Webflow
- Page settings, Custom code, “Inside <head> tag”. Custom code needs a paid site plan.
- Weebly
- Pages, choose the page, SEO Settings, Header Code.
- GoDaddy Website Builder
- Add an HTML section to the event page and paste the block there. Search engines read JSON-LD anywhere on the page.
- WordPress
- Most event plugins already output this block. To send your events to us automatically, use our WordPress plugin.
How the directory picks it up
Our crawler follows your site’s sitemap and reads this block on each event page, so new events appear without retyping them. Tell us your site once from the organizer dashboard (or the for organizers page), and keep your sitemap on: Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, Weebly and GoDaddy publish one automatically.
