About

What this is

The Monterey County Event Directory is a single calendar of every public event in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties: business, nonprofit, civic and community events, with entertainment listings on the way. It exists so residents and visitors can find things to do, and so the people who organize events can see what else is already planned before they pick a date.

Where the listings come from

Most events are gathered automatically from the websites and calendars of the organizations that run them: chambers of commerce, cities and the county, nonprofits, venues, schools and local media. Every listing links back to its source, shows when we last checked it, and can be corrected or removed by the organizer. Organizers can also claim their listings, connect their own calendar so new events publish automatically, and submit events by hand.

What we don't do

We do not sell tickets or take registrations; those links go to the organizer. We do not list private parties, invitation-only events or sales pitches dressed up as networking. See the content policy for the details.

Who runs it

The directory is an independent local project. Write to us from the contact page.
